REVISED!

I cannot believe that we are already halfway through the school year! The choir students have done so many amazing things this year, I am always excited to see what they bring on next.

The next two months will bring on a lot of hard work from the students as we prepare for IGSMA contest. I definitely believe that our Troy choirs have what it takes to put forth a good showing for the judges that will critique us, but I want to remind all of the parents that attendance is critical for a great performance. Encourage your students to put forth their best effort everyday in class. We perform the way that we rehearse, so everyday is important for the contest performance.

There are also some students that will be participating in the IGSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plainfield on Saturday, February 27th. Parents, please encourage your students that are participating to practice with me as much as possible. The more opportunities they have to sing with me, the more success they will achieve on the performance date. Please check your schedules and see when your students can meet with me for practice. Don't just sign up for the minimum of two practices. Push your students toward excellence and have them practice with me at least once a week.

Also, please support your students at home with all that they do in class every day. Encourage them to sing for you at home, ask them about the music we are singing in class. The more you talk to them about what we're doing in class, the more important their voices and choir will seem to them.
