- Thank you to all of the parents who came to the Springfield Meeting. Please remember that the blue form is due on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 and all other white forms are due back on Friday, March 30th before Spring Break.
- Don't forget! Payment and orders for the Choir T-shirts will be due on Monday, Jan. 30th. Please remember that no late forms will be accepted.

2011-2012
And we're off! Welcome back everyone! I hope that all of you had a great summer and find yourself rested and missing choir as much as I have.
As we enter into the 2011-2012 school year, you will find that we have added another choir to the curriculum at Troy Middle School. This addition in curriculum has occurred because of the growth in enrollment in the Troy Choir Program. We currently have close to 80 7th & 8th grade students enrolled for the upcoming school year. THIS IS A GREAT THING!!! But this number is too large to have all of these students in one class. Because of this, it has been decided to separate the classes by ability level, similar to the Troy bands and their multiple classes. Separating the students by ability will give lower level students more opportunities to work on their singing techniques one on one with the director and to understand the basic fundamentals of reading music. Students who have a solid foundation of the basic elements of singing and reading music notation will be challenged to move at a faster pace and explore more difficult arrangements of choral music.
Since we have a new class added to the schedule, the Choir boosters and I have a lot of decisions to make about the direction of our choirs. WE WANT YOUR THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS! Please consider joining us at any of our meetings. Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 30th. After that, we will set the date for all of our other monthly meetings so everyone can know in advance when we will meet. And if you can't make it to the meetings, please consider volunteering for any of our upcoming fundraisers and concerts. We value and appreciate all of your support.
Choir parents; please talk to your students about the boosters and meetings and any special forms that might be coming to you. I always try to be in constant communication with all of you through flyers and emails, etc. So please check with your students to see if they have received any flyers about choir. If you check and I check, then we'll all be better informed.
